Pallavi Hota : The silver lining of Oriya television industry

Many of those who were either born on this soil of Barpali or reared by its water have been endowed by Ma Samlei to excel in the creative spheres of life. This soil not only produced some of the best ikat weavers of the world, but likewise reared many poets, writers and even artists since time immemorial. But off late in television broadcast industry as well our new genres of youngsters are making their remarkable presence felt to the viewers across the state.

As on this date Pallavi Hota is the silver lining of Oriya television industry. She hosts “Feedin” the most popular news bulletin in the regional language of Sambalpuri which is being produced and telecasted by Otv. She is a youth icon of Sambalpur region.

Pallavi was born at Ghunsar of Saintala block in Balangir district of Odisha. In the school she was a good performer in studies. That apart she was active in school sports. But she says as a tomboy she went on to do all the pranks which any village children do like plucking the sour mangoes from the trees during the summer noon while elders would be taking rest. Since childhood she was reared by her maternal grandfather and uncle Nabin Kumar Bedbak. She has been bestowed with the highest order of Sambalpuri culture, values and ethos. This pretty girl  got antecedent to Barpali as she attended Barpali Girls High School for two years and passed 10^th in the year 2007. On passing out from Indian Institution of Mass Communication(IIMC) at Dhenkanal she was recruited by Otv in a campus interview. 

She is the news anchor of Feedin which is a popular news bulletin aired by OTV. It is telecasted seven days a week day at 5.30PM. Most of people across western Odisha after doing their rigorous chore during the day hours eagerly wait to watch this news bulletin at evening.

Unfathomably this girl stands for culture, language, art and festivities of Western Odisha. Lot many social organistions which promote Western Odisha have invited and felicitated her until now. Be it Juhar Paribar of Bangalore or Nuakhai Bheghat of Hyderabad. She is very particular to wear Sambalpuri ikat sari let where so ever she appears in public life, be it in the news room of the TV station or be it any social functions that she attends.

Until joining Otv she was under the impression that broadcast media is an alluring job. It brings lot of name and fame. But at the end of each day she is loaded with fatigue. Each evening on returning home she relieves herself while playing with her kittens.
